Country Musume is a group with quite a history and seeing as the new generation was just announced (and what a surprise that was) I have decided to write a post on the groups history for those who are unfamiliar.
Here is the origional lineup, consisting of Hiromi Yanagihara, Rinne Toda and Azusa Kobayashi. they recorded there first single but tragically hiromi would die in a traffic acident days before the songs release. Her family agreed to the single being released and the rest is history
Azusa left because the loss of hiromi was too painful, leaving rinne as the sole member for a while.
asami was later added and in the next single were joined by...
Ishikawa Rika from morning musume! the group was now known as Country Musume ni Ishikawa Rika.
Then Satoda Mai joined.
Rinne left and the group now contained Kimura Asami, Satoda Mai and Ishikawa Rik.
The next lineup is known as Country Musume ni Konno to Fujimoto. It added Asami Kimura and Miuna Saitou. Rika was replaced with Miki Fujimoto and Asami Konno of morning musume. Members eventually graduated leaving only...
Mai Satoda who continued to be known as country musume until she graduated the elder club. she then moved to new york with her husband.
Earlier in the year some audition were announced by satoda mai, although there were no results at the time the audition prepared us for some surprising news...
This new lineup will be known as country girls and will be mangaged be ex member satoda mai. there are two kenshuusei- Manaka Inaba and Risa Yamaki and three brand new girls- Chisaki Morito, Uta Shimomura, and Mai Ozeki. the group will also feature Momoko Tsugunaga as the Playing Manager ( I guess it's like the leaders of the other groups) after she finishs up with Berryz Koubou.
So there you go! It's a group with quite a history and I can't wait to see where it goes from here!
